Open rehearsals & introduction to Gica

The student choir C.S.G. Gica will be opening its doors to new members again in February 2021 – just in time for you to get involved with our projects for next semester. At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday 4 and 11 February, our conductor David van Roijen will be holding open rehearsals online.

During these open rehearsals you will learn about our project: Best of Gica. This year is our 55th anniversary and we are celebrating with a selection of pieces taken from our repertoire over the decades. We hope to finish this project by the end of March, before starting our summer project: Henry Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas, an opera about a tragic love story. We will conclude this with a concert in the summer.

Are you interested in singing with Gica next semester, but daunted by the idea of an online rehearsal? Then make an appointment with one of our board members for a personal introduction to the society. We’d be happy to answer all of your questions, tell you about the music we’ll be singing this semester, and how you can rehearse it well at home whilst that is still necessary.

Either by video call or over a socially distanced cup of tea at a board member’s house, whatever you prefer. Send an email to, we would love to hear from you!
