The KEI-week is over and Gica student choir is preparing for its eleventh lustrum. In September, we will return to the “Annelies” project, about the life and sad fate of Anne Frank. In this piece, which we will be singing to mark 75 years of freedom, the English composer James Whitbourn set entries from Anne Frank’s diary to music. Our performance will take place in November, accompanied by an ensemble (grand piano, clarinet, cello and violin) and with a soprano soloist interpreting Anne’s voice.
Want to join? You are welcome to drop by on Thursday 3 and/or 10 September to come and have a look, listen or sing along. Everyone is welcome to attend our open rehearsals, whether you have sung in a choir before or just want to see if it’s something for you. We rehearse from 7.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. in the Oosterkerk (E. Thomassen à Thuessinklaan 1, Groningen), before enjoying a nice drink in our local.
