Feel like singing? Come and visit Gica on Thursday 15 February to watch, listen or sing along. Whether you have sung in a choir before or just want to see if it is something for you: everyone is welcome at these open rehearsals. We rehearse from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm in the Oosterkerk. Besides the normal rehearsal, this time we also do a fun introductory game together, so you can get to know the choir a bit better right away. And you are more than welcome to join us after rehearsal for our weekly drinks.
In the coming six months, we will be working on the project ‘Babel’. It alludes to the story of the Tower of Babel and the confusion of tongues that ensues. At the same time, it refers to the city of Babylon that appears in the text “Super flumina Babylonis” from Psalm 137. In this project, we will sing both old and new music, featuring composers such as Sweelinck, Bruckner, and Gjeilo. We will conclude this project with a concert in the summer of 2024.
